Take Control of Your Blood Pressure Naturally
Millions of Americans ARE NOT concerned about their high blood pressure, and SHOULD BE! This is a very important indicator of condition of your heart, blood vessels and overall health. This pressure can build for a variety of reasons and have disastrous results.
This does not mean you need to run to your doctor to get a medication to suppress these numbers and ignore what caused the situation. Millions of Americans are already taking hypertension medications and yet cardiovascular disease is still the number one killer in the
2. Walk. Yep, you will need to walk at least 30 minutes every day. There is nothing more important. If you think you are too busy to walk, check that blood pressure for a reality check. You may not be around to do all of that “really important” stuff if you don’t have time to walk.
3. Don’t Smoke. Cigarettes aren’t cool anymore. They are just a deadly addiction. Deal with the addiction and toss them.
4. Don’t eat fast food. Remember “Fast food means fast death”.
5. Manage your stress. Meditation and relaxation are not for weirdo’s and sissy’s anymore. It is only for people who want to be around a while longer. If you don’t know how to meditate or do deep relaxation techniques, find a program, book, or audio technology that can help.
6. Avoid new high tech “conveniences” - Notice that all of the new stuff causes stress and results in death rates of some kind. Sure, we don’t find out just how toxic this stuff is until some outrageous number of people die from it and the statistics and warnings are released years too late. Example: Teflon cookware, cell phones, microwaves, pain killers, antibiotics, asbestos materials, acne creams, cold medications, food preservatives, food coloring, food additives, High Definition Televisions, and so on and so on….. Consider if you really need these items, and whether you might LIVE better without them.
7. Get out in the SUNSHINE. Vitamin D is derived from sunshine exposure. Some research suggests that Vitamin D deficiency is related to an increase in blood pressure, an increase in “bad” cholesterol, and reduction in the body’s ability to burn fat. Using a sunscreen will make this situation WORSE. Get out in the sun in the morning, avoid sunburn, and take an evening stroll. You will be healthier.
8. Exercise – Once again, avoid those conveniences. Don’t take the car to drive a quarter of a mile to drop the kids off. Walk them there. Use all of the parts of your body that you would like to keep. Have fun with your body. Instead of renting a movie, go to the park, go bowling, or engage in some form of physical recreation. Walk a dog, even if it is not YOUR dog. I am NOT a gym person. Too many people join with great intentions and don’t follow up because it is work. It feels stupid to me to sit on a bike that doesn’t go anywhere and watch a television that is endless discussion about what is wrong with the world, while breathing recycled air, under toxic artificial lighting. This just doesn’t seem healthy or fun to me. Find an exercise program that is fun and do it.
9. Lose weight – This one step may be enough to normalize your blood pressure, and reduce your risk of most degenerative chronic illnesses. There are so many diets that a typical internet search will result in over 50 million results. How can there be so much information and yet we are overweight and confused about what to eat? Keep it simple. Eat only food that looks like food. Eat only food that does not come in a box, bottle, or bag and is NOT labeled with an ingredients list. Real food does not NEED an ingredients list. Example, apple, banana, orange, tomato, chicken, almond ………….. Never eat food that is handed out through a window. There, simple enough.
10. Avoid the WHITE POWDERS – They are all toxic…. This would be white flour, sugar, salt, artificial sweeteners, and well… the illegal stuff. They are simply poison.
11. Take a multivitamin only on the days that you want to be healthy. The facts are that these essential nutrients are NOT available in our food sources anymore. We have overused the top soil on our farms too many times. It is depleted. No longer is food grown suitable to sustain us without illness for our lifetime. Make sure that you choose a vitamin with potassium, calcium, and magnesium. Avoid vitamins that contain iron as iron will rust in water (I’m sure you’ve witnessed this in your life). If you need iron, eat blackstrap molasses.
12. Take Omega -3 fatty acids – There are volumes of studies now that confirm that Omega-3 fatty acids are essential to good health and will reduce blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, and provide a natural way to rebuild cell walls and neurological structures. Please include these daily. Use Flax seed, Fish Oil, Borage, Pumpkin, Black Currant, or your favorite.
13. Take CoQ10 supplements - There are many studies available that suggest hypertension can be reversed with this supplement.
14. Eat Celery – This is the most natural and effective way to reduce water retention in the body thus reducing high blood pressure. It is completely safe, and inexpensive. It is a wonderful crunchy substitute for toxic snack food.
15. Eat Garlic - Mother Nature’s cure all – anti bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory. Garlic has been shown repeatedly to reduce cholesterol, and reduce high blood pressure. This is not garlic salt! This means natural garlic cloves. The process of bruising or mashing the clove releases the chemicals in the clove that have the healing effect. This effect diminishes over time. Garlic salt was mashed who knows how long ago. Garlic supplements are processed in some factory some unknown time ago. Garlic cloves are cheap and are found at the local grocery store.
16. Include Lycopene, Taurine, Vitamin E and C – Studies are showing that these supplements are essential to lower high blood pressure. If you choose your multivitamin carefully, these should be included. Make sure that there is at least 400 IU’s of Vitamin E included. You may want to consider adding another vitamin C in a chewable form (because they taste good, and are fun) to take in addition to the multivitamin.
