Is there anything safe left to eat?
The Financial Times reported on June 22 2005 that the United States Food and Drug agency has found meat and dairy products from cloned farm animals safe for our consumption after a four year study. This is amazing since the life span of generally all farm animals is longer than 4 years. It is impossible to know if farm animals themselves survive or suffer any ill effects from multiple generations of this practice, but yet, in time less than the lifespan of an ordinary farm chicken, the Food and Drug administration has said that this is safe practice to produce food for your family to consume. Our food chain has been modified, fortified, enhanced, improved, repackaged, processed, freeze dried, preserved, irradiated, vacuum packed, canned, smoked, frozen, enriched, micro waved, and basically manipulated to the point that the resulting products are not food at all. In the same four years that the Food and Drug Administration took to do this research, the average American’s body did not evolved to take in this newly genetically modified product. How will the human body respond to eating cloned meat? How has the human body responded to eating preservatives, chemicals, over processed and manipulated “food stuffs”? It is very hard to say what will happen. What has happened is that one in every three Americans already has one chronic disease. Is this related to food? Who knows? Americans are fatter and sicker than ever before. Is this because their bodies are not being properly nourished and exercised? Does more altered food produce healthier Americans? We think not. Our opinion is that altered food is not natural. Unnatural foods do unnatural things to our bodies. We call these unnatural conditions “disease”.
Natural Holistic Health strongly suggests that 4 years is not enough to know that this is safe. It has taken years to determine that cigarettes in fact do cause lung damage, that Aspartame creates a host of chronic health issues, and that fat-free diets did not produce fat free Americans. A natural diet has worked with the human body for thousands of years. Whole food has created strong healthy bodies that were capable of astounding feats, great adventure, and wonderful discoveries. Chronic disease is largely a product of our modern age and modern food stuffs. We believe that adding more problems to a problematic situation, does not make it better.
We have some basic food golden rules about eating healthy food:

Only eat food that looks like food. If it doesn’t look like it came from nature, don’t eat it. It is no longer food.

Do not eat anything that has an ingredients list on it. Natural food doesn’t need a list. Example: Banana, Egg, Parsley………… you get it.

If possible, only buy food from a reliable source that can assure you that it is not been poisoned in any way.

Eat food AS it comes from nature. Eat seasonally. This is how your body can use them best. Enjoy summer food in the summer, fall food in the fall and so on.

Grow your own garden foods. Experiment with garden herbs and spices.

Do not microwave anything, except surf board wax, or things you will not consume.

Eat everything you can raw. The flavors and nutrients are best when consumed closest to nature.

Never eat anything in a plastic container. Eating is a sacred act of nourishing yourself. Serve yourself on beautiful dishes.
Never eat while watching TV. Pay attention to how wonderful whole food tastes.
Eating enables you to live a wonderful life. Choose the kind of fuel you need for the kind of life you want. If you want junk, eat junk. If you want health, eat health.
